Right to Education – A utopian dream or plausible reality

It stands as a cornerstone for survival.

Education pushes a man out of poverty but it’s a vicious circle. A man has to overcome poverty to get that education. Once educated, he can change his world and change the way of the world.

Is education for all a utopian dream?

At this moment, in this society, under the current political influence, education for all seems like a utopian dream.

  • The schools are charging the hearts and kidneys for fees.
  • The private school mania is spreading like common cold
  • The budget cuts for schools by the government is unnerving.

No wonder, it seems to be a utopian dream.

But, education for all is a dream. A dream had by many world leaders.

Education has become a privilege because of capitalistic political ideologies. A privilege enjoyed by the privileged.

With this in mind, on 1 April 2010, the right to free and compulsory education for children between the age 6-14 years came into action.

It was introduced to provide the privilege of education to every child. In some able families, education is the only privilege that could be provided to a child. And the rest suffer from financial restraints. This wide gap in society has pushed the idea of education to be a utopian dream.

Education is the most powerful weapon you can use to change the world.

It provides

  • Opportunity to learn the many ways of the world
  • Awareness about one’s rights
  • The rights from the wrongs

The fact that education’s importance had trickled into the minds of the common people is the first step towards making the dream a reality. It shows we are on our way to that reality.

Christian Mission Service is a non-profit organisation that works towards achieving that utopian dream for our children. We recognise and provide education to the underprivileged children. We rely on like minded people to support us in this feat.
