The entire world got devastated by the arrival of COVID-19. It swept off the lives, lifestyles, and livelihoods of people belonging to various strata in society across the world. Prevention of the disease became a gargantuan problem to deal with. Dealing with the disease got even tougher. People from the lowest level of social structure were facing monetary and contingency problems. Vulnerable children had to go through enormous distress during this period. But, as people say every dusk has a better dawn in the future, there were various means of making them live a livelihood by reducing their burden of survival. Christian Mission Service is one such organization that aimed its focus toward underprivileged kids who had difficulty coping with the new burdensome environment that they had to face. There are two important things to be followed in terms of the pandemic breakout. One is to prevent people from the disease. The second one is to cure their condition if they got affected by the pandemic. The most important parameter is to succeed in the first condition to avoid the second. By the grace of humanity and by a random act of kindness from the humans and the grace of the lord, Christian Mission Service had managed to succeed in the first and win over the second. We were able to provide an exceptional means for prevention and hence, none of our kids were affected by the COVID-19 disease.

What did we do to prevent the necessity to cure?

Christian Mission Service made sure that the families of the kids received Rs.1300 every month to make them remain well-nourished. Great food (nutrition) is the first means for the prevention of diseases. We offered them COVID kits that contained masks, and sanitizers and made sure that they are living in a sanitized environment. We sanitized their homes before and after COVID-19. We monitored the temperature of the children twice a day. We also made sure that they get proper behavioral treatment during the time of lockdown to make them grow psychologically. The most important thing that we incorporated is to make everyday visits to their houses to provide proper care and create an environment of belonging for the kids. We made sure that every kid above 13 gets vaccinated twice to stay safe from the disease. The children from ages 12 – 14 were given the first dosage of the vaccine according to the health guidelines.

After Health comes to Education 

Education is the light that sets life up for others. After taking care of the contingency in medicine, we started to focus on the education of the kids consequentially. We provided education kits so the children to not lose their track of education. We made sure that every kid gets the privilege to study during the hard times. Apart from facilitating the education for the kids, we counseled them to study without the pressure of exams. We made them get relieved of the exam stress.

We are the Christian Mission Service. We provide education for vulnerable kids from marginalized social strata. We provide, educational, organizational, and other facilities for the people. We get various help from altruistic people and provide service for the people. We believe that service to humankind is service to mankind. We make sure that every kid gets the basic need of food, shelter, dress, and education. We feel that we have a way to go in making an educated India.
